Living in Saudi Arabia is cheapest then other gulf country. I have experience in UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain. Now in Saudi Arabia is little expensive but not like other gulf countries. Now in KSA roles are not satiric like before.
You can buy your own car and visit anywhere. You can bring your family at visit or permanent visa, it depend at your Professions,
You can create your own bank account.
Government has integrated you ID card with everything. Just they will enter you ID (Iqama #). And get all detail.
You can send Money, pay bill and everything by online bank account.
VISA
To get family residential/permanent visa profession on iqama must be engineer, doctor, computer programmer etc. other professions can only apply visit visa for 3 months which is extendable. If anybody need any guidance mail me?
How to Get Family Visa (permanent)
IF you profession is good at Iqama (ID) then you can easily get family VSIA, but you have to show your Degree with attestation both (English and Arabic Translation)from Saudi embassy of your country. Then here, it will go to foreign affair office to verify. You can also go or any other one can take to your nearest city RIYADH, DAMMAM, JEDDAH. They will take 25SR to stamp and verify. IT must be original.
Then from your sponsor, you have to make two latter, one for Salary must be show 4000SR, second Visa Form written your all family names, and stamp it from chamber. Then you have to pay Visa Fee 2000SR by online (if you have bank account) or ATM or go to Bank. When you will pay it will automatic come at your Iqama.
Marriage Certificate (Original, Attested by foreign office and Saudi embassy of your country
Now you can go to VISA office (Makatab Al Istaqdam) not the foreign affair office (it is only for Visit VISA). They will ask to show the original Certificate (degree or diploma) and take copy of your Iqama, family passport, certificate, visa form, est. they can give visa at same time (Printed Paper)

If your Profession is not good at Iqama then you can apply for Visit VSIA that is very simple.
New system
Click the online form then enter all information in Arabic but name of your family must be in English. After that click submit button. After that it will open another page that you have to print with request #, this page you can take to your sponger for sing and stamp, and then go to Chamber of commerce to attest; now they will activate your request at their system and take 25Sr. after one to five day you will get visa or refuse. Some time they are given 3 months that can be extend or sometime 1 month that can also be extend for 100SR.

If you want to change profession you need tested degree or Diploma to change low category to high category, but now a day it is little default. Government fee to change Profession is 1000SR.
